Less than six miles from Marq on Main, the Naperville Riverwalk offers charming fountains, bridges, and brick paths.
Created in 1981 in honor of Naperville’s 150th anniversary, the Riverwalk ranks as one of the most beautiful places in the Midwest. Attractions found along this 1.75-mile walkway include:
The Riverwalk Amphitheater is an open-tiered area that hosts community performances and events. It’s also used as a place of relaxation and is the site of many outdoor weddings. Additionally, visitors will also find the Riverwalk Millennium Labyrinth. It replicates the Chartres Labyrinth in France and provides a fun opportunity to enjoy the twists and turns of this compact pathway.
Visit the quarry to enjoy a fun paddleboat ride. These boats are a fun way to relax with family and friends, and they hold up to four passengers. Rentals are available through mid-September from 10:00 a.m. until one hour before dusk.
Centennial Beach & Grill
Centennial is Naperville’s “beach,” and it has welcomed visitors since 1931. Renowned for offering a swimming experience unlike any other, visitors can wade into a zero-depth entry and swim to depths up to 15 feet. In 1833, George Martin was the first to use the land. He extracted limestone, which was used in building foundations throughout Naperville. The property was quarried until 1913. Today, Centennial welcomes thousands of people every year who come to cool off on hot summer days.
Don’t miss the weekend adult floats. They’re held on Saturday and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m., and the cost is nine dollars.
