The Best Places to See Movies near Lisle

Did you know that the first movie theaters in the United States were known as Nickelodeons? They opened in 1905 and took their name from the cost of admission and the Greek word for theater. Larger, more modern theaters took over five years later, and today, thousands crisscross the country. Those near Marq on Main include:

Classic Cinemas Ogden

At Classic Cinemas Ogden, visitors enjoy a two-hour vacation. The theater dates back to 1976, and was one of the first multi-screen movie destinations in the Chicago suburbs. Major renovations in 2018 brought 4K digital projection, 7.1 sound, and luxury heated recliners. Guests enjoy first-run movies and free refills on soda and popcorn.

Hollywood Palms

Step into Hollywood Palms to enjoy a one-of-kind dine-in theater concept. Visitors enjoy an unforgettable experience complete with Hollywood blockbusters, hearty entrees, and creative cocktails. The bold auditoriums feature the latest in digital projection and sound, as well as friendly servers who will take your order. Menu offerings include El Guapo’s tacos, Chevy cheeseburgers, and Porky Pig barbecue sandwiches. After 5:00 p.m., standard admission is 11 dollars, and moviegoers can purchase advanced tickets online.

Hollywood Blvd

Called one of the best theaters in Chicagoland, Hollywood Blvd also offers a dine-in theater experience. Each auditorium has its own theme, including Museum. Pictures of famous actors adorn the walls, while display cases feature items such as the silver egg from the Austin Powers movies and costumes worn by the Munchkins in the Wizard of Oz. In the kitchen, the chefs make the meals from scratch with fresh ingredients. Sandwiches include Chuck Norris Chicken, The Terminator, and The Arnold Schwarzenburger.
