Whether you’d like to create beautiful ceramic pieces or to learn new drawing techniques, the art classes near Lisle provide something for everyone.
ClaySpace Ceramic Arts Center
The group of friends who opened ClaySpace met during a ceramics class. They wanted to create a place where the Lisle community could learn in a casual setting. There are classes for all skill levels, and they’re taught by experienced educators. New students will want to start with Beginning/Intermediate Ceramics. It explores the basics of technique and design with a focus on progressing to the next level.
DuPage Art League
At the DuPage Art League, the mission is to promote the visual arts through classes, workshops, and gallery exhibits. Whether you want to create landscapes or portraits, the classes teach techniques across multiple mediums, including colored pencil. Instructor Margaret Bucholz helps students learn how to produce exciting results on black and mid-tone paper.
Naperville Art League
Since 1961, the Naperville Art League has fostered the values of creativity, excellence, and community. It inspires a passion for the arts and welcomes about 500 students every year. There’s something for everyone, including Decorative Glass Techniques. Students explore the various techniques for creating one-of-a-kind pieces. They’ll complete four projects, and each session includes a short demonstration.
Instructor Shannon Johnson is an artist from Virginia. Her passion for art began at an early age, and she can’t remember a time when she wasn’t coloring, drawing, or sewing. Shannon studied Florentine art and architecture in Florence, Italy, and is inspired by abstracts and decorative glass.
